Optimising Retail Intelligence: GANT’s Data Warehouse Evolution

GANT, a well-known global retail brand, initiated a collaboration with Nion in early 2021 to optimise their data warehouse.

GANT is a globally recognised fashion and lifestyle brand with a long tradition of quality and innovation. Operating across multiple markets and sales channels, the company needed a reliable way to manage and analyse large volumes of data generated from retail, logistics, and e-commerce systems.

In early 2021, GANT partnered with Nion to take over the maintenance and further development of its Data Warehouse: a core system supporting reporting and business intelligence across the organisation. The aim was to strengthen the platform, ensure long-term stability, and enable faster, more informed decisions.

Our Role

As GANT’s operations expanded, so did the complexity of its data landscape. Data was being collected from several internal and external systems, making consolidation and analysis increasingly challenging. To address this, Nion assumed responsibility for the ongoing development and optimisation of GANT’s Data Warehouse, in close collaboration with Kolibri Vision, the provider of GANT’s QlikView/Qlik Sense analytics tools.

Our data engineering team worked to integrate multiple source systems, enhance data quality, and ensure that business-critical information flowed seamlessly into the analytics environment. Alongside technical improvements, we focused on creating a dependable foundation that supported GANT’s day-to-day operations and long-term analytical ambitions.

The work involved:

  • Continuous development and optimisation of the Data Warehouse.
  • Integration of diverse source systems for accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Alignment of backend infrastructure with visualisation tools.
  • Ongoing maintenance and support to ensure reliability and performance.

Partnership and Impact

Throughout the collaboration, transparency and teamwork were key. Nion’s consultants worked closely with GANT’s internal teams and partners, ensuring smooth communication and a shared understanding of goals.

As a result, GANT gained a more cohesive and efficient data platform. Reporting became faster and more consistent, while the reduced need for manual data handling allowed teams to focus more on analysis and business development.

To Conclude

The partnership between GANT and Nion has now successfully concluded, marking the end of a rewarding collaboration. During this time, Nion helped strengthen GANT’s data capabilities and optimise its Data Warehouse environment.

The cooperation was defined by professionalism, trust, and a joint commitment to quality. We are proud to have supported GANT on this journey and wish their team continued success as they build on the solid data foundation established through our work together.
