Meet Peter Dahlman, a DevOps Engineer from our Gothenburg office.

Meet Peter Dahlman, a DevOps Engineer at Nion in our Gothenburg office. With over 11 years of experience, Peter is a system architect, developer, and creator who has become an invaluable asset to our team in just one year. Read more about his journey and insights into the world of IT consulting.

Tell us more about being an IT Consultant. What does it mean to you personally?

The variation excites me—different assignments, customers, and environments. This, in turn, enables growth on several levels. As a consultant, I present myself differently to customers, acting professionally and courteously. More importantly, my goal is to create value, not just complete the required hours.

What’s your favourite thing about your workplace?

Interesting assignments matter, but great colleagues are just as important. That’s exactly what brought me to Nion—the amazing people and the strong support system. Furthermore, the opportunity to grow, learn, and be part of a company that truly cares means a lot. Since we share the same vision and values, Nion is a perfect fit for me.

Has your role evolved over the years and if yes, how?

My role as a DevOps engineer has remained the same in my first year at Nion. However, my assignment has gradually expanded, covering more areas and moving toward an SME (Subject Matter Expert) role within the customer’s organization.

Do you have a unique problem-solving process that makes an impact for our clients?

First, I start by fully understanding the problem. Then, I break it into manageable steps and tackle each one systematically. As a result, solving issues with patience and precision ensures effective results.

Any part of your experience you feel is relevant to share with our network?

I’m also part of Nion’s DevOps competence team. Specifically, we are a group of consultants with deep expertise in certain areas. Our role is to track industry trends, identify essential skills for the market, and guide our consultants in their professional development. Consequently, we help ensure that our team stays ahead of industry demands.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my free time, I work on small coding projects, like home automation. Additionally, I practice martial arts. When away from the computer, I enjoy working with leather, metal, and textiles—creating key cases, comb holders, or whatever I need.

Anything you’d like to share with our audience, future Nionits, or potential clients?

We are on an exciting journey with Nion, and I look forward to seeing this amazing team grow and develop the company even further!
