Zlatko Stefanovski – Frontend Developer

"I would describe Nion's culture as supportive, collaborative, and professional. Those were my first impressions, but after a year I can confidently say those values are reflected in the way people work together daily."

A year ago, Zlatko joined Nion as a Frontend Developer and immediately started working on one of our biggest clients from the telecommunications industry. Since then, he has taken on more responsibility, sharpened both his technical and soft skills, and become a trusted member of the team. As he puts it himself, every new challenge has felt a bit like another mission. Here is what his first year at Nion has looked like.

His Role

Zlatko is based in Bitola, and is a Frontend Developer at Nion. He has been part of the same client project since he joined the company, and over time his role has evolved to take on more responsibilities and become a more trusted member of the team. You could say he has been taking on increasingly challenging missions, just like a Jedi.

Settling In

This is what Zlatko told us when asked about his experience settling is his new role:

“The onboarding process gave me a strong introduction to Nion and helped me understand both the company and the client project I was joining. Once I settled in, I was pleasantly surprised by how supportive and collaborative everyone was. Whenever I had questions or faced something new, there was always someone willing to help, which made the transition much smoother. Having experienced teammates around felt a bit like having a Jedi Council to turn to for guidance.”

One Year on the Project

Zlatko is very happy with his decision to join Nion.

“Working on this project has given me the opportunity to contribute to a large, well established client while continuously learning. Over the past year I have gained a better understanding of Nion’s expertise and the quality of services we deliver, which has only strengthened my confidence that this was the right alliance to join.”

Although he has been on the same project throughout, his responsibilities have grown significantly: “I have become more independent, taken ownership of more complex tasks, and developed a much deeper understanding of the project, which lets me contribute more confidently and efficiently.”

Sharpened Skills, and What’s Next

Zlatko says that over the past year he has strengthened both his technical and soft skills. He has gained deeper knowledge of the project, improved his problem solving abilities, and become more confident in collaborating with colleagues and managing his daily responsibilities.

“You could say I have learned to trust the Force, especially when tracking down tricky bugs. My main goal for year one was to become confident in my role and gain a solid understanding of the project. I am happy to say I have achieved that. In year two, I would like to continue expanding my technical knowledge, take on more challenging tasks, and contribute even more to the project’s success.”

A Challenge Worth Sharing

We asked Zlatko to share with us a challenge from his daily work that is worth sharing.

“One of the biggest challenges was getting familiar with a complex project and understanding all the business processes involved. There was a lot to learn in the beginning, but by asking questions, learning from experienced teammates, and staying curious, I gradually built my confidence and became much more comfortable in my role.

Looking back, I am most proud of the progress I have made over the past year, going from learning the project from scratch to independently handling tasks and contributing to the team’s success. Every completed feature has felt like another mission accomplished.”

Nion’s Culture, One Year In

“I would describe Nion’s culture as supportive, collaborative, and professional. Those were my first impressions, and after a year I can confidently say those values show up in the way people work together every day.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is the importance of continuous learning and teamwork. Working on a long-term client project has shown me how valuable knowledge sharing, communication, and attention to detail are when delivering high quality results.”

Life Outside of Work

Work-life balance being an important component of the culture at Nion, we asked Zlatko about his life outside of work.

“I have been able to maintain a healthy work-life balance since joining Nion. Having a supportive team and a stable working environment allows me to stay productive during work while still making time for family, friends, and my hobbies outside of work.”

“May the Force be with you all,” said Zlatko as we finished our short interview. 🙂
