We are ISO 14001 certified since 2014
– At Nion, we believe in taking responsibility for sustainability- and environmental initiatives.
We have been certified in ISO14001 since 2014, and in the context of Nion we are working hard to incorporate our Environmental Management System within the framework of ISO 14001 into the new organization.
Since the spring of 2022, Filippa Sjöstrand has been assigned the role of Environmental and Sustainability Manager. Her strengths in processes and structure have had a significant impact on how we operate within the framework of ISO 14001 and the Environmental Management System.
Filippa shares:
“This is a highly significant and important matter for us. I thrive in creating order and conducting proactive work through the Environmental Management System, ensuring that we consistently comply with the ISO 14001 standard. Through standardized and structured processes, we aim to reduce our negative environmental footprint, while simultaneously increasing our positive impact over time.”
We also hope to inspire other companies to prioritize similar efforts, regardless of the industries they operate in. Filippa believes:
“Even though we are not a manufacturer or industry, we still have an impact on the environment, which we need to be aware of and work to prevent through various measures. For instance, we can ensure our suppliers meet our requirements for engaging in environmental and sustainability efforts, explore the best ways to compensate for carbon emissions from travelling, review our electricity consumption, our waste management and much more.”
